I just got this dog out of the shelter, doesn't he like being at my house? This sounds like separation anxiety. It is a common disorder among dogs that have been displaced from their normal homes and thrown into unknown situations. Every house is like a new planet, and without the ability to comprehend all that has happened to them, panic is a normal response. However, it needs to be addressed quickly. Read this file, call your veterinarian and a trainer for advice on how to best deal with this dog's anxious behavior. More info...

I am planning on adding another dog to my household. My beagle loves other dogs, but what should I do when I first bring the new dog home to make her feel good about having another dog around the house? Proper introductions can set the tone for a happy relationship between the resident dog and the newcomer. It is wise to take time to supervise and manage the interactions between the dogs in the beginning. This does not mean that you should panic the first time one of them snarls "get your paw off my face" or barks out "hey this is my rug". Read this file for tips and pointers on smooth introductions.
