I cannot let an opportunity to promote rescue dogs get by me. Four million animals die in this country every year. They die from a disease called homelessness. It is the secondary infection of human apathy, and it kills family pets. They spend their last days frightened and alone. There is no vaccine, there is a cure however-commitment and responsibility.

Please consider a rescue dog for your next family member. There is a rescue group for almost every breed imaginable. And there are many many mixed breeds in rescue. It is a myth that all rescue dogs are pitiful and are victims of abuse and neglect. Many rescue dogs lose their homes due to death, divorce, and change of financial circumstances for their owners.

Rescue is full of dogs that people exclaim upon meeting them  "How could anyone give up such an amazing dog?" But in our throw away society, they do give them up in staggering numbers.

Most people think they want a puppy. But, when I ask them to describe their ideal dog I always seem to hear a description of a well trained five year old. Don't get me wrong I love puppies. But for a family that is busy with kids and their activities, I highly recommend a well socialized adult rescue dog.

I can help with the transitional period when you add a new dog to your home, just go to the contact page and get in touch with me. If your problem needs hands on attention and you are not in the Orange County, CA area please get in touch with a trainer in your area.
